How we handle your email
Last updated [DATE]. Have this reviewed before launch; it is a starting point, not legal advice.
What we collect
When you send a letter, we keep your letter, the pen and sign-off you chose, and your email address. Notes left on letters are fully anonymous and ask for no email.
We also keep a scrambled, one-way code made from your internet address so we can stop spam. It can't be turned back into your address.
What we show
Only your letter and sign-off. Your email is never published or shown to other visitors.
What we use your email for
If you ask for it, we email you when your letter goes up and when someone leaves a note on it.
If you tick "Send me occasional updates," we'll add you to our mailing list. We only do this when you tick the box, and every email has a link to stop them.
We never sell your email.
How letters are reviewed
Every letter and note is checked automatically, with help from an AI model, and some are read by a person before they go up.
Removing a letter or your email
Write to hello@yourdomain.com and we'll take down your letter or delete your email.
